SAKE (Japanese Rice Wine):
(The correct term for Japanese Rice Wine is “NIHONSHU”) has played an important role in Japanese culture and history. When first produced over 2000years ago, Sake was cherished and made as an offering to the various gods of Japanese indigenous Shinto Temple.
We (Japanese) often drink Sake to celebrate the change of the seasons such as spring bloom and autumn full moon. Certain regions in Japan, as a New Year’s tradition, to bathe in sake is said to help clear evil spirits and give way to new beginnings.
Almost 30 years ago, a scientist noticed that the hands of workers at Sake brewery in Japan looked beautiful and young.
